A special general meeting is called for 5 p.m. today at Solidarity House to plan for industrial action against Cable & Wireless.
All divisions of the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) have been summoned to attend.
This follows yesterday’s meeting between representatives of LIME and the Barbados Workers’ Union, and mediated by Minister of Labour Esther Byer-Suckoo.
These talks broke down last night after four hours of intense negotiations.
Sir Roy Trotman, the BWU’s General Secretary, said they would be going ahead with plans to launch an island-wide shutdown. (CM)
