The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.
Readers are today commenting on Cissy Houston’s visit to Barbados.
The mother of the late singer Whitney Houston, is in for the Barbados Music Awards. She arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday.
Jamaal Slocombe: “ Whitney Houston was scheduled to perform at the BMAs in the past, that didn’t work out. But the effort that the coordinators have made to honor the mogul mother of a legend and pay tribute to a queen it’s to be applauded.”
Margaret Ross: “No compassion or respect here at all. Whitney Houston was a beautiful singer/actress. She had a terrible problem and because of that problem, I’m assuming, caused her death. We make our own choices; to do or not to do. My island Barbados is beautiful and what’s wrong with her (Cissy) coming for a visit, whether it was by invitation or otherwise?”
Cheryl Burgess: “I don’t normally comment on these things, but I guess the Barbados Tourist Board is hoping that this will generate more Americans to visit Barbados. Just a thought to the reason why she was invited to Bim”.
