Robbed of chain on birthday visit

A London-based Barbadian, home to celebrate her 60th birthday and retirement, was robbed of jewellery and then threatened with a knife on Sunday afternoon.
Inez Mascoll is still shaken by the attack in which her gold chain was snatched just outside the gate of the Ann Gill Memorial Methodist Church on Fairfield Main Road, Black Rock, St Michael.
She said the incident took place around 1:50 p.m. as she walked towards Black Rock Main Road, accompanied by her brother. They were approached by a young man who was tall, clean-shaven, dark in complexion and casually dressed in beige denim trousers and a beige T-shirt.
“He rubbed me shoulder to shoulder and grabbed my chain. He ran into the churchyard, where he had a bicycle hidden under the bush. We started to run behind him,” she recalled. (AH)
