THE GERIATRIC HOSPITAL now has two renovated wards, with upgraded lighting and ventilation, thanks to the Rotary Club.
And the management of the 128-year-old Beckles Road, St Michael institution is hoping that other agencies will come forward to spruce up the remaining wards.
The handing over of the two refurbished wards took place Friday during a ceremony attended by Minister of Health Donville Inniss, Rotary Barbados president Tony Williams and manager of the hospital Janelle Oxley-Worrell.
Oxley-Worrell reported that Rotary members spent almost four months tiling bathrooms, plastering ceilings, painting walls, upgrading electrical infrastructure and creating windows for more ventilation and natural lighting. (GA)
