BECAUSE THIS COLUMN had tuh be written before election day, I, like evahbody else, am not able tuh announce who and who was successful at the polls and who didn’t make it but by now a new set o’ people should be in place tuh form a new Government. So today, two whole days after the fact, you would know dat the emotions will still be very strong.
Of course, ya gine get the jubilation from the candidates who get in but the agony of defeat ain’t gine be easy fuh the ones who didn’t. I ain’t know who does take it harder – the candidates or the yardfowls as duh got some yard fowls who does want tuh cuss stink, and I mean stink, even beat ya if ya barely open ya mout’, so be warned.
Now ya cahn say I ain’t tell ya: if you is one o’ dem supporters who got something tuh celebrate and you know dat you live ’round some very ardent supporters o’ the ones whose horse ain’t make it, be warned. Duh got some people who doan take losing very well – and lemmuh tell ya, the agony of defeat ain’t easy.
Look, if you ain’t know, lemmuh tell ya: duh got a lot o’ yardfowls out there who does take this thing suh serious dat you would believe dem candidates make outta some kind o’ precious metal and if you miss and say something dat is true, something dat you know fuh a fact ’bout the body or bodies dat dem backing, you know you gine get blister blind and wash in cuss. So I gine tell all o’ wunna who know wunna live ’round these kinda supporters so tuh lie low fuh the time being.
I could only imagine how hard it would be all like now so tuh contain ya feelings if the candidate or candidates you was backing cross the finish line last Thursday night in flying colours and you in the same room as other people whose candidates didn’t do suh good. I could only imagine how wunna woulda had tuh stifle back the strong urge tuh jump up and holler out because wunna didn’t want tuh make the other people feel too bad.
Look, wunna might think dat I making sport but all like now so duh got some people who still cahn stop weeping. Duh got some who still cahn believe dat the body who dem vote for ain’t make it. Duh got another set o’ people in shock, who just sitting down watching the banners, the T-shirts, the flags, the hats, the scarfs and all the other paraphernalia dat duh accumulated ovah the past three weeks while pon the campaign trail.
Duh got some who ain’t know what tuh do wid duhselves now dat all the lot o’ drama, hype and noise ovah. Then duh got another set o’ people who will look you straight in the eye and tell you dat dem ain’t care who get in or who get out, only because dem candidate ain’t get in hear?
Duh also have some who ain’t vote nor nutten so, just went ’long fuh the ride and free food but ain’t went nuh where and put down a X fuh a boy after all o’ dat. And then there is the real indifferent ones who just sit back and wait fuh the elections tuh be ovah tuh beg fuh a tee-shirt tuh hop on pon the victory motorcade trucks tuh eat, drink and do the dog wid evahbody else but duh ain’t vote nor drive a stroke fuh nobody all during the election campaign.
And then there are the ones who would have listened tuh the news, take in a few meetings, then quietly make up duh minds, gone out there peacefully, mark down duh X very cool and went ’long ’bout duh business. Nuh lot ’o long talk.
So now after all the lot o’ hype, noise, posters, billboards, hats, shirts and every other thing dat was used in this election campaign, the people have spoken wid duh X and fuh some it is joy, fuh some it is pain; fuh some it is tears and fuh some it is laughter. Let us all now pray dat fuh all of us it is the right choice.
