Weathering the storm

Zimbabwe batsman Hamilton Masakadza had to overcome a few testing moments against Barbadian fast bowler Kemar Roach yesterday.
But he battled away to fashion a cultured century against the Sagicor High Performance Centre on the opening day of a three-day match at the Desmond Haynes Oval.
Masakadza, who struck a hundred on Test debut as a 17-year-old against West Indies in 2001, used the opportunity to warm up for the first Test against the Caribbean side starting next Tuesday at Kensington Oval.
Here, Masakadza fending off a rising ball from Roach during his unbeaten 109 that helped Zimbabwe to 222 for five.
