Marijuana?use has reached worrying proportions and is no longer confined to boys on the block and the unemployed.
The National Council for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (NCPADD) and the National Council for Substance Abuse (NCSA), think the alarm bells are ringing in relation to marijuana use which according to them is now prevalent among children as young as nine.
Barbados Football Association (BFA) president, Randy Harris, said it was unfortunate that marijuana use had been linked to football spectators when it was really through the length and breadth of this country.
“Football is part of the society and obviously whatever is happening in the wider community is going to spill over in other aspects. I don’t know that marijuana use is bigger at football than elsewhere,” he said.
