On the eve of what is considered the holiest weekend on the Christian calendar, a pastor lambasted churches, leaders and others for the moral decadence that has become the new normal in Barbados.
Reverend Dr Lucille Baird dismissed same sex marriages and criticized vulgar displays at Crop Over, House of Spartacus orgies, vote buying and foul language.
“Despite the constant warning, and writings on the moral decay in our country, today we are seeing a new normal of sickening proportions. We have now sunk into the abyss of darkness and debauchery,” she said.
Baird, who heads the Mount Zion Mission Inc, was addressing the weekly lunchtime Democratic Labour Party (DLP) lecture at its George Street headquarters yesterday. She spoke on the topic Life in the Context of the Barbadian New Normal.
