Warriors of the pole

Spectators watching the greasy pole competition of the 2013 LIME Oistins Fish Festival may well have been wondering if Barbados was being invaded.
This was due to a Japanese film crew, along with comedienne Ayako Imoto, all but stealing the show when she attempted to scale the pole herself. She was none too successful, however, and was soon overwhelmed by the more skilled climbers.
It was all in good fun and everybody who participated had a good laugh afterwards. The film crew worked for a Japanese television show called Itte Q and was filming a documentary in Barbados. They are known for visiting other exotic locales and filming local activities and traditions, sharing some of their culture along the way.
