The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending in Barbados.
Readers wasted no time responding to the story where Jamaican Shanique Myrie asked the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) for almost BDS$1 million in damages from?Barbados for the treatment she received on her first trip to Bridgetown three years ago. Her lawyer Michelle Brown the money they were asking for should be paid as moral and punitive damages for what Myrie went through after she arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport on March 14, 2011.
Rawle Singer: “If the Barbados Government agree to paying this woman one red cent they would be opening the big can of worms in history.”
Mega Turney: “Not a cent you not getting,”
Princess Tiny Neferua: “Come on madam  Myrie,  really, $1 milliom? You hear we have money trees growing in Barbados. Not one red cent you getting….”
Allan B Love: “She was disrespectful so she was searched, questioned and detained to the full extent of the law of Barbados. The minority of Jamaicans have no respect for other Caribbean people or there is. They believe everyone else is backwards.”
