DEAR CHRISTINE: Double life a big dilemma

Date:

Share post:

Dear Christine,
I’D like You to help me with a problem I’m facing.
I am 20 years old and have two boyfriends. I met No.1 when he visited the island for four weeks.
Before returning to his country he asked me to wait for him. I did as he asked as I fancied him.
He returned, built a home, and left me in it.
He returned as he had promised, and has since left – to return in 18 months’ time. We keep in regular contact through emails, the telephone and he also writes from time to time.
Boyfriend No. 2 came along about six months ago, and he now stays with me on occasions. I don’t want boyfriend No.1 to know about boyfriend No. 2, but No. 1 wants to return and marry me. Please tell me what to do, as I love boyfriend No. 1 but have strong feelings for No. 2.
– K
Dear K,
I am really amazed at how some women are quick to say “the men out there are no good”, yet destroy good relationships when they do come about. In fact, when a good man comes along and shows love, care and respect, he is either taken for granted or left with a broken heart. When will women like you ever learn? What more can a man do?
Do you think it is right for a man to build you a home, leave you in it, then for you to bring another man to live with you in that home? It’s not right! Couldn’t you wait and keep to yourself for a year and a half until boyfriend No. 1 returned?  You couldn’t possibly be in love with him and two-timed him the way you have.
As I see it, you stand a pretty good chance of losing house and marriage because of your unfaithfulness – unless of course you intend to clean up your act right away. If you fail to do so, I hope that No. 2 will be able to provide you with a home and a ring. However, I doubt that will happen because of your cheating ways. If you truly care for No. 1, try to make things right immediately.
– CHRISTINE
