Creditors yesterday unanimously rejected an insolvency proposal from Bajan Cleaning Services Ltd which the company had hoped would stave off bankruptcy.
As a result, the Supervisor of Insolvency, an office under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, is now expected to appoint a trustee in bankruptcy whose role is generally to administer bankruptcy proceedings.
The company owes almost $10 million to Government departments and private companies.
The meeting of creditors at the Warrens Government Office started around 10 a.m. and concluded just shy of an hour when the head of the cleaning company, Hallam Payne, emerged to reveal his disappointment that the proposal had been rejected. (RMB)
