Final submissions from lawyers will be made next Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., before a High Court judge makes as decision on which Barbadian family will house Raul Garcia.
In a special interview held in chambers in the No. 9 Supreme Court yesterday, Justice Margaret Reifer heard from the last two of three Barbadian families who offered their homes to the Cuban-born, United States-raised Garcia to stay when released from a safe house by the Immigration Department.
Proposals were made by an elderly couple from St John, and a retired civil servant from St Michael.
The identities of the three families have been withheld until the judge makes a determination, expected soon after Tuesday’s final meeting with attorney at law David Comissiong, who represents Garcia, and lawyers representing the Chief Immigration Officer and the Solicitor General.
