WITH THE HURRICANE season approaching, property owners in Barbados are beginning to prepare their properties.
Repairs are being carried out to houses and commercial buildings to try to make them hurricane resistant. Trees which pose a threat to buildings and power lines are also being cut and trimmed.
This was the case yesterday at Ashbury, St George, where Stirling Bannister of E-Z Haul Tree Service and his team trimmed a 56-year-old golden apple tree.
Bannister told the WEEKEND NATION that Barbadians should “trim and cut down trees now and don’t wait to rush and do it when the season starts”.
The hurricane season runs from June to November.
