The stage is set and all systems are go for the start of the Barbados Digicel Reggae Beach Party tomorrow.
When NATIONNews visited the site at Brandons Beach, St Michael, the crew was busy setting up and the sponsors were there setting up tents.
Event Coordinator Aja said he was pleased with the new setup of the production and said patrons can look forward to a bigger and better production than last year.
“We have made some major changes to eliminate the problems we had last year, especially in terms of stage location and crowd complement.”
Aja said the stage had been worked on since Friday adding they were a full day ahead of schedule.
“The stage has been moved further north into the arena. Last year it was too close to the entrance which actually contributed to the bottleneck at the gate.
“The box office, which was also at the entrance has been moved to the other side of the highway, away from the entrance into the venue” he said.
Aja said that this year they have also created three areas for general entry into the venue which would allow for easier access.
“We learn last year from what happened when all the people rushed the gates at once and people could not get in. This year we have even moved the fence nearer to the sea to the get more leg room.”
Aja said they have also introduced more security measures for the event.
Jamaican artistes Aidonia, Tifa, Elephant Man, Bounty Killa will share the stage tomorrow with a Bajan contingent that includes Most Wanted, Mr Levi, Dutty Android. (NS)
