Errant Government security guards have been advised to get their act together.
Speaking at the 37th anniversary church service of the Government Security Guards Service at the Carrington Wesleyan Holiness Church, Minister of State Patrick Todd said that while the service celebrated the milestone, it must be mindful of incidences of unsatisfactory work performance by some officers.
Poor attitudes and behaviour exhibited by a minority must be eliminated, he said.
“In spite of general success of the Government Security Guard Service, it should be mentioned that problems such as absenteeism, unpunctuality, poor interpersonal relationships and unsatisfactory quality and quantity of work produced all require remedial action,” Todd told the congregation at the Welches Road, St Michael church.
“I take this opportunity to exhort the Government Security personnel to make a concerted effort to develop positive attitudes such as teamwork and cooperation and to strive for excellence instead of mediocrity.” (AH)
