Cuban refugee Raul Garcia is less than 48 hours away from his long awaited walk of freedom.
The only question to be answered now is if his first Barbadian home outside of prison will be rural or urban.
High court judge Justice Margaret Reifer will tomorrow decide which Barbadian family will have the former drug trafficker released into their custody until a country outside Barbados accepts him.
The MIDWEEK NATION has been reliably informed that Garcia will be handed over to either an elderly couple from St John or a retired civil servant who lives in St Michael after tomorrow’s decision.
Justice Reifer’s decision on Garcia’s new home will be made in the No. 9 Supreme Court tomorrow at 3 p.m.
The judge will also have to decide if there will be any special conditions Garcia will have to adhere to, like reporting weekly either to a police station or officials of the Immigration Department.
