There was the usual fun and laughs at the annual fund-raising tea party hosted by the Cancer Support Services at the Barbados Yacht Club.
Master of ceremonies Antoine Williams set the tone with his witty introduction of artistes and he even sang, delighting patrons with his rich baritone voice. Also taking the stage were comedian Alff Padmore and veteran Barbadian crooner Richard Stoute, a big hit with the older ladies in the audience.
Cancer Support Services president Jan Lynton told Social Scene funds raised were a tremendous help with the organization’s expenses incurred in assisting victims of the dreaded disease.
Bookmarks crafted by the class of patients taught by Canadian volunteer Linda Hook were a hot item at the tea party.
