Northern lights out

A?number of households in northern and north-eastern Barbados were out of electricity for just over an hour yesterday after a tree limb fell on a power line.
It is believed that the relatively high winds and intermittent heavy rains experienced across the country from early morning contributed to the problem.
Householders affected included those in Rose Hill, Benn Hill and Farley Hill, St Peter; Belleplaine, St Andrew; and Coconut Grove, Bathsheba and Cattlewash, St Joseph.
The Barbados Light & Power’s corporate communications administrator Jackie Marshall-Clarke reported that the incident occurred after 1 p.m. and the repairs were effected just after 2 p.m.
In Cattlewash, a utility pole snapped in two, but this did not cause a power outage. It was later replaced.
