This is a common feeling by most centenarians who not only look forward to the big day, but also the once in a lifetime opportunity to spend time with Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave.
And it was no different for Veneta Shepherd.
With a sharp mind and sweet voice, a witty Shepherd entertained Sir Elliott Belgrave with her pleasant personality.
After her big visit, which she expressed she hoped would take place again, Barbados’ latest centenarian celebrated her day with worship, lunch and other celebratory activities at her Derricks, St James residence. (AH)
