Sign of the times

The “for sale” sign on the old Banks Breweries property in Wildey,  St Michael was removed yesterday.
The sign had recently been erected by real estate agent Terra Caribbean after the People’s Cathedral was unable to come up with the $12 million more needed to complete the purchase of the complex.  The church had deposited $1 million on the property nearly a year ago, but was unable to raise the remaining funds to close the deal.
Pastor Emeritus Holmes Williams explained over the weekend that the church expected to get the funds to purchase the complex within the next three weeks.
The People’s Cathedral intends to use the vast property to construct a new church, school  and other facilities.
