A MEETING THIS WEEK between a certain foreign entity, business and Government officials focused on concerns over a controversial charge.
The foreign entity expressed concern that business interests close to them were being unduly affected by this charge, and sought clarification on the necessity for it. An official had to explain that for eight years the charge was misread and the recent move was not only legitimate, but long overdue.
The main Government person at the meeting regretted the unhealthy development and expressed regret at the manner in which the matter was handled.
Though nothing decisive was arrived at from the meeting, at least each party agreed that saving the businesses affected by the charge was in the best interests of everyone.
Quiet joy for artists
THE WAIT TO EXHALE is over for a group of artistic people. They have finally been relieved of an individual some referred to as a tyrannosaurus.
Though overjoyed, the group has not been jumping in celebration like costumed band revellers on Kadooment Day. Instead they are quietly rejoicing as they don’t want to do anything to upset this individual’s colleague who oversees them day to day.
From what Cou Cou was told, the group had grown to despise the individual because that person flaunted a considerable weight and had them as if on tenterhooks. So great were their fears that a creative environment could not flourish.
We understand that this situation was compounded by the individual’s pledge to do some house-cleaning that would have shaken them to their very foundation after a certain event.
Since that event, group memberswere holding their collective breaths waiting for this purge. But now that the individual has been given the boot, the group can breathe somewhat easier knowing that the replacement has a reputation for kind deeds, especially to the less fortunate.
Leader out of fight?
SOME MEMBERS of a certain team are seething over their leader’s seeming softer approach to their arch-enemies, and are beginning to wonder at the motives behind it.
The not so funny thing is that this team’s opponents are also suspicious of that leader’s moves, and are wondering what strategy is being employed.
From what Cou Cou was told, this leader, who has a reputation as a fighter, has made less than adversarial moves of late because the situation is dire and their opponents so inept that only a helping hand will save the day. In other words, instead of bludgeoning their opponents as accustomed, the leader has chosen constructive engagement.
Some of the leader’s disenchanted teammates have however suggested that the personal friendships cultivated through the years could be slowing this capable individual from going for their arch-enemies’ jugulars.
But one who knows the leader well has said the individual has adopted a particular strategy with specific timelines on when to strike, and will be sticking to this policy even though it is different from the verbal bullets and bombs of the past era.
Cou Cou understands that as part of this new strategy, the leader plans to enliven and mobilize as many people as possible across the country before striking at the heart of their arch-enemies. The insider explained that it is all about timing, and that is what this leader’s strategy is all about.
