Roston Chase scored a splendid 127 not out and ICBL Empire collected the maximum four batting points against Republic Bank St Catherine on the opening day of their third-round LIME Elite Division match.
Empire racked up a handy first innings of 303 for nine, thanks mainly to Chase who began patiently but later played more shots.
He did not record a boundary in his first fifty off 95 deliveries. He reached his century off 148 balls with four fours and a solitary six in 193 minutes.
Chase shared in a useful 57 run fourth-wicket partnership with Kevin Stoute (29) and a 79-run fifth-wicket stand with Shawn Graham (45).
His unbroken tenth-wicket partnership of 25 with Brandon Best (four not out) saw his team reaching the 300-run mark thus securing the maximum batting points off the allotted overs.
Earlier, Empire were uncomfortably placed at 83 for three before Chase took control of the remainder of the innings.
Shamar Cooke and Derrick Bishop collected three wickets each.
