ONE OF BARBADOS’ most popular and entertaining artistes will not be competing in any of this year’s Crop Over Festival events.
Ricky Li’l Rick Reid announced to hundreds of partygoers at Brewster’s Road Crew’s first fete for the season that he would be sitting out this year’s contests.
“I will not be competing in the people’s contests this year. I feel I get unfaired every year,” he said at Kensington Oval during an hour-long performance in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Instead, the artiste who has released music every Crop Over since he first came on the calypso scene in 1997, said he would stage a Li’l Rick In Concert show with his friends for his supporters. This show will be held on Saturday, August 3.
