SOCIAL SCENE: Insurers’ house warming

Date:

There was much fanfare for the recent opening of the new headquarters of Co-operators General Insurance on Collymore Rock, St Michael, with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart heading the list of distinguished guests.
The swanky affair saw representatives of the credit union movement turn out  in their finery and enjoying a smorgasbord of fare at the cocktail reception which followed speeches, unveiling of a plaque and ribbon-cutting.
Stalwarts of the movement such as Sir Harcourt Lewis, accompanied  by Lady Lewis, and Keith Bourne were there, as well as Sir Richard and Lady Cheltenham and retired Insurance Corporation of Barbados executive Monica Skinner.
