Boscobel are the new queens of the National Sports Pine Hill Dairy Primary Schools’ Netball Competition.
The St Peter School clinched the title with an exciting 8-7 victory over Blackman and Gollop in the final at the Netball Stadium yesterday.
Boscobel were behind 5-3 at half time but came back with a brilliant second half.
Goal attack Aleka Rouse scored five goals from six attempts while goal shooter Kayla Hurley netted three from seven.
For Blackman and Gollop, goal attack Reanna Woodroffe sunk four of nine, while goal shooter Deanna Ramsay scored three from five.
Boscobel coach Adrian King said he was pleased with the girls’ performance.
“The long practice sessions and playing against other teams really helped in gaining in this title,” he said.
Blackman and Gollop coach Calvin Briggs said they were contented making it into the finals as this was only their second year in the competition.
In the third place play-off, St Martins Mangrove prevailed over Belmont 9-6.
Goal shoot Ashne Marshall led the way for St Martins Mangrove by scoring five of her six attempts and goal attack, Brianna Harvey netted all four of her shots at goal.
For Belmont, goal attack Jalisa Jones-Smith converted five goals from eight attempts and goal shoot Faith Jackson scored one of two. (SH)
