Boucher slams 161 off Carlton

Rashidi Boucher hit an aggressive century, his second in consecutive matches in the LIME Elite Division, as Super Centre Spartan occupied the crease all day against Carlton after being invited to bat in overcast conditions yesterday.
Boucher’s belligerent 161 led Spartan to 281 for eight. His dominance was underlined by the fact that no other batsman reached 30; the next best contribution coming from Shane Browne, who made 27.
Boucher, who also hit a century in the previous series against BDFSP, reached his hundred off 110 deliveries in 134 minutes at the crease during which time he struck three sixes and 12 fours.
By the time he was caught at the wicket by Sunil Ambris off the bowling of off-spinner Alex Bridgeman, Boucher had smashed four sixes and 16 fours, batted for 256 minutes and faced 201 balls.
The Barbados opener enhanced his reputation as a powerful striker of the ball with exquisite strokeplay on both sides of the pitch.
A straight drive off leg-spinner Dario Vaughan was appealing to the eye but two sixes to midwicket off the same bowler shortly before reaching his century provided more evidence of his power.
Bridgeman, who along with Kyle Mayers escaped the wrath of Boucher, was the most successful bowler with three for 42.
