WEST INDIES are without their regular captain Dwayne Bravo and fast bowler Ravi Rampaul in the second match of the Celkon Mobile Cup Series against India at Sabina Park in Jamaica today.
The pair sustained injuries on Friday during the first match of the Series, when the home team beat Sri Lanka by six wickets at the same venue.
Bravo and Rampaul had scans on Saturday evening which revealed the full extent of the injuries.
Bravo has a slight groin strain. He is expected to be fit for the second leg of the series in Trinidad.
Rampaul suffered a sprained left ankle while bowling and is expected to be out of action for three weeks. He will return to Trinidad to continue his rehabilitation.
In Bravo’s absence, Kieron Pollard is leading West Indies for the first time in an international match.
West Indies won the toss and invited India to bat first. The recently crowned ICC Champions Trophy winners reached 25 without loss after four overs.
