Barbados is the cream of the crop in the 2013 Taste Of The Caribbean, held in Miami over the weekend.
Team manager Michael Harrison could not contain his enthusiasm as he and his colleagues touched down at the Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday.
The Bajans took the overall title Caribbean Team Of The Year; along with gold in the team, Seafood and Junior Chef Of The Year competitions.
There was silver in the categories of Chef, Bartender, Pastry, Beef, Rum of Puerto Rico and Cheesecake.
The Barbadians also took the titles of Best Use Of Beef, Best Seafood and Most Creative Use of Ingredients – Bartender.
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Taste Of The Caribbean is an annual regional food and beverage conference which attracts chefs from across the Caribbean. (JS)
