St Bartholomew tops Spanish Day competition

The boys and girls of St Bartholomew Primary emerged the victors at the Spanish Day quiz held at the school yesterday. 
Español was the order of the day at the Parish Land, Christ Church School, where under the theme Hola, students from Vauxhall, Gordon Walters, St Christopher and St Bartholomew Primary competed in a Spanish quiz and mini-concert yesterday.
St Bartholomew led in the quiz from the first round and at the end of the fourth round, was judged the eventual winners with 52½ points, ahead of Gordon Walters Primary which scored 43. Vauxhall Primary had 33½, while St Christopher scored 30.
There were four rounds, including a speed round, translation from English to Spanish, and changing sentences from singular to plural. 
The Venezuelan embassy’s Minister Counsellor Francisco Anzola and Spanish facilitator for primary schools in St Joseph and St Andrew Flor Mark were the judges in the competition. (LK)
