Mass casualty accident in St Lucy

Sixteen people including two children, were injured in an early morning accident along Bourbon road in St Lucy, involving a tractor and a ZR route taxi.
The accident which occurred around 6.55 am resulted in the road becoming impassable as five ambulances, two from the QEH, one from the St John Ambulance Brigade, one from Barbados Defence Force and the other from Island Care Ambulance service responded to the mass casualty, and transported six of the injured to the QEH for treatment.  
The other ten passengers were treated at the scene by doctors and other medical personnel and taken to the nearby Maurice Byer Polyclinic by a Transport Board Bus for further treatment.
