Two underdogs walked away from the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex with the Junior Calypso Monarch titles last Saturday night.
Quinn Quinn P Prescott and Charice Honesty Walrond took the eight to 12 and the 13 to 18 titles, respectively. Quinn P’s Living With HIV put her ahead of defending monarch Jazz Jazz-Z Gittens, who placed second. Asher Dynamo Murrell finished third, while Kymorhi Mighty KT Trotman had to settle for fourth.
Honesty beat Pic-O-De-Crop finalist and former monarch Aziza Aziza Clarke into second. Another former monarch, Samantha Sammy G Greaves, placed third and Chad De MC Montplasir was the third runner-up. (YB)
