Trinidad take lead

BASSETERRE – Barbados rallied to concede a slim first innings advantage but Trinidad and Tobago held the upper hand on the second day of their third round WICB Under-19 match yesterday.
Resuming on 58 for six in reply to Trinidad and Tobago’s 158, Barbados were eventually dismissed for 149 to limit the opponents’ first innings lead to nine.
Captain Jameel Stuart topscored with an even 50 and there was also resistance in a last-wicket partnership of 53 between Jerome Jones, who made 46, and last man Neil Persuad.
Batting a second time, Trinidad and Tobago closed on 123 for two, holding an overall lead of 132 ahead of the final day.
Opener Jeremy Solozano is unbeaten on 52 and he put on 68 for the third wicket with Camillo Carimbocas, who ended the day on 40. (HG)
