The 60-year history of the Ruby Church of the Nazarene in St Philip was on display yesterday when the church held its Heritage Day activities.
Chairperson of the jubilee committee, Marguerita Yarde, said the display was all part of the church’s year-long diamond jubilee celebrations that started October 7 last year.
She said the Heritage Day featured an exhibition of old artefacts such as archaic telephones, sewing machines, cameras, typewriters and lamps, as well as mortar and pestles and Rediffusion radios.
The biggest feature of the day were taped conversations with older members of the congregation who had been worshipping at the church for more than 20 years.
