Barbados?will play for seventh position tomorrow after losing their third straight match at the World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, yesterday
The young Bajan lasses were beaten 59-20 by South Africa, doing little offensively after trailing 35-10 at half time. They only scored four goals in the third quarter, once again coming up short as the quality of the opposition improves.
Trinidad and Tobago, in contrast, have been improving as the tournament progresses and will be ruing their 61-54 defeat by Wales. They led 31-29 at half time, but lost the script near the end as Wales fought back.
Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago will play at 5:30 a.m. Barbados time tomorrow. Today will be a rest day for the top eight as the lower placings are decided.
Meanwhile, it will be another Australia versus New Zealand final.
England, who had looked so powerful, found themselves on the losing side of the 67-33 result against Australia and will take on Jamaica, once again, in the match for third place.
Like Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica would also be regretting not holding on to the lead they held at different periods against New Zealand.
They had the better start, but New Zealand came back and went ahead by 11 (31-19), only for Jamaica to come back and lead 34-32. However, New Zealand had the better fourth quarter, going on to win 53-44. (SAT)
