Planned layoffs at the Pine Hill Dairy have been shelved.
CEO of Banks Holdings Limited and Director of the Pine Hill dairy Richard Cozier said the grim outlook painted earlier this week was now much brighter following talks with Minister of Agriculture, Dr David Estwick.
The dairy had planned to drastically limit milk from farmers and to layoff 100 of its staff.
That situation has changed given the School Meals Department decision to continue to take the same quantities of fresh milk from the dairy while welfare programmes subsidized by government with food vouchers would also include local fresh milk. (PR)
