IT HAS TAKEN ten years, but a woman is again the top recruit in the Barbados Defence Force.
She is Jenny Benedict, who also outshot her mostly male counterparts to take the Best Shot prize for the 2012/2013 intake, a feat last accomplished by a woman three decades ago.
“I did not know that was the case. I am very proud of myself but I didn’t expect to do so well,” she told the SUNDAY?SUN after the awards ceremony yesterday evening at Paragon, Christ Church.
If the name is familiar, Benedict was a national boxer, winning featherweight bouts both here and in the region.
