Lashley praises craft skills

The national summer camps that recently concluded after six weeks have been hailed by a Government minister for bringing out the creativity in campers.
Eight camps were dedicated to craft and Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Stephen Lashley said the ministry would continue along these lines, having a focus on specialist camps, such as science and technology and entrepreneurship, as in the last two to three years.
“Starting from the young ones because they are the ones who really are going to be taking the whole lead in terms of transforming our country into an entrepreneurial hub and also using our creative materials in doing that,” Lashley added.
He was speaking at Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, where he toured an exhibit of some of the craft items made by children involved in the camp. (LK)
