To the rescue

PASTOR GRACE SHOWAN is overflowing with thanks and praise.
The founder of the Grace Evangelistic Missions said she was “totally amazed” by the overwhelming response of Barbadians home and abroad to her appeal in yesterday’s MIDWEEK NATION for assistance for five siblings, aged between 6 and 18, living in abject poverty in a dilapidated house in Christ Church.
“This is what social order is about,” Showan said. “Barbados – including corporate Barbados, private citizens, even Barbadians living overseas – have come forward offering financial support, clothing, food, furniture, and a diverse variety of help to ensure the well-being of these children. It has left me totally blown away.”
The Nation Publishing Company felt the flood of public goodwill from the early hours of the morning, when the switchboard was bombarded with callers wanting to comment on the plight of the young people and also contribute to their relief.
