ONE SCHOOL REMAINED closed and at least three finished half-day as the Michaelmas term got under way yesterday.
Chief Education Officer Laurie King said the first day went “fairly smoothly”, despite the “challenges” at Wesley Hall Infants, Society Primary, Parkinson and Alma Parris.
The Ministry of Education sent out a bulletin over the weekend stating that Wesley Hall Infants would be closed until tomorrow to facilitate cleaning. According to King, Society Primary remained closed as well for industrial cleaning.
In the absence of information of the St John school’s closure, parents and guardians turned up with their charges in spanking new uniforms and necessary tools for the first day, only to be confronted with janitors cleaning the building and cutting overgrown brush.
