PRISONERS PLEADING for bail might not have to come to court, while complainants in sexual cases or those who have been threatened might not need to be in the same court as the accused.
This is because a video conference link between courts, as well as between the courts and the prison is in the works.
The new measure was revealed by Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson in his address to herald the opening of the new legal year yesterday.
The Chief Justice, who was speaking at a full sitting in Court No. 1 to an audience which included fellow judges, magistrates, attorneys and jurors, said the proposed link between the court and HMP Dodds would be held in certain hearings, like applications for bail.
