THE?WEST?INDIES’ search for a more productive wicketkeeper/ batsman in?Test cricket will continue on the upcoming “A” Team tour of India when the performances of Jamaican Chadwick Walton will be closely watched.
With incumbent Denesh Ramdin still not assured of a permanent place in the senior team, the 28-year-old Walton said yesterday that he was aiming to achieve consistency in India in an effort to regain his Test place.
Walton, who has played most of his regional cricket for the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC), will be playing on the sub-continent for the first time.
“I just want to be as consistent as possible. Once I achieve consistent performances, I will be satisfied and I know that will help the team as well,” Walton, who has only been selected for three four-day tour matches, told WICB Media.
