Despite their miserable showing in regional youth cricket this year, Barbados have still managed to land two players on the West Indies Under-19 squad.
All-rounders Jerome Jones and Jofra Archer have been named in a 17-man outfit set to face a touring Bangladesh side in a seven-match  One-Day series to be played in Guyana next month.
The squad, which was announced by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) yesterday, includes leading run scorer Jeremy Solozano, of Trinidad, along with Guyanese top wicket-taker Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai.
Jamaica, who won both the three-day  and 50-over trophies this year, lead the way with six players on the squad.
Barbados failed to get any of their top order batsmen into the side after struggling to consistently post meaningful totals while finishing a disappointing fifth in both formats of the game.
The regional junior squad will take  on the Bangladeshis at three venues: the Guyana National Stadium (GNS), Bourda and Everest.
Trinidad and Tobago teenager Nicholas Pooran, the youngest player (17) in the just ended Caribbean Premier League, was not considered because he is with the Red Force team at the Champions League.
Squad: Fabian Allen (Jamaica), Jofra Archer (Barbados), Tagenarine Chanderpaul (Guyana), Bryan Charles (Trinidad & Tobago), Tristan Coleman (Jamaica), Taryck Gabriel (Windward Islands, St Lucia), Shimron Hetmyre (Guyana), Jerome Jones (Barbados), Ray Jordan (Windward Islands, St Vincent), Alzarri Joseph (Leeward Islands, Antigua), Brandon King (Jamaica), Ramaal Lewis (Jamaica), Leroy Lug (Jamaica), Preston McSween (Windward Islands, Grenada), Marquino Mindley (Jamaica), Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai (Guyana), Jeremy Solozano (Trinidad & Tobago)
