West Indies coach Ottis Gibson says it will be a challenge to prepare the regional cricket team for its upcoming tour of India.
Speaking to the media at the 3Ws Oval, Cave Hill Campus yesterday, Gibson said with the tour not having been originally scheduled as part of the ICC Future Tours Programme, preparations would now have to be fast-tracked.
The West Indies were scheduled to tour New Zealand from December 14 to January 13 to play three Tests, five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two T20 matches.
However, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced earlier this month that the regional side would tour the subcontinent between October 31 and November 27, where they will play two Tests and three ODIs.
