Eight teams will be making their debut tomorrow when the 34th Barbados Workers Union (BWU) Netball Competition gets underway at the Netball Stadium from 4 p.m.
Korrec Auto Sharp Shooters, Pythons, Shell Down Ballers, Eastern Stars, Orange Spurs, Psychi Ballers, Unity Ballers and Bico will all be in for the first time and are spread across the four zones.
Overall, a record 37 teams will be taking part, with players hoping to be called for selection to the Barbados Workers’ Union netball team.
Ruth Blackman, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, will deliver the feature address and there will also be remarks by Sir Roy Trotman, BWU general secretary.
The top three teams on parade will receive awards as well as those with the top two display banners.
The first match will pit Wolverines “A” against Police Boys and Girls Sports Club. (PR/SAT)
