People in the know are saying that Barbados is no longer punching above its weight in a place that it once did, and its standing is at an all-time low.
And they are blaming this on the actions of an individual whose prominence cannot be ignored.
The person is considered so undesirable that organizations which would normally invite someone in that position to speak at their events have not been doing so with this individual.
In fact, people are still referring to a speech the individual made about a noted person at the time of their death as woefully inappropriate and a gross embarrassment.
Things have deteriorated to the point where a verbal report was made about the individual to the highest authority, but as far as is known, no reprimand was given.
Reliable sources told Cou Cou that two separate incidents have also been brought to the attention of the individual’s immediate supervisor, in the hope that something could be done about the person, but no action came out of that either. Indeed, since then, the person’s employment has been reaffirmed.
The core of the complaints against the individual is their inappropriate manner of dealing with the opposite sex; that is, how the person speaks to them. The individual is now being said to be transmitting this behaviour via email.
The complainants say the nature of the behaviour is more reminiscent of that of a rum shop – which the individual is very aware of – than the person’s present station.
The net result of all of this is that Barbados is now viewed as operating way below its once revered capacity.
Muzzle on cards?
The unpleasant outbursts which once caused a certain person to be downgraded, could be leading to more misfortune.
Cou Cou has been told that there are official whispers about muzzling this individual. People in the know are saying the person is like a loose cannon – mouth open and an explosion takes place.
They say it is like the person cannot control his tongue and likes to hear the sound of his voice, so something has to be done to arrest the situation.
One insider lamented that because some people just can’t take a hint, as the downgrade was designed to do, more drastic action now needs to be taken, and immediately.
Time to play ball
A man crying in the wilderness for what is legally his, is now resigning himself to never getting his due because he does not want to play ball with the dominant team, from what Cou Cou was told.
However, this man continues to bark at everybody in defiance.
But the team’s main playmakers are adamant. They are not going to help him reconstruct his life in any way by giving him his long overdue reward, unless he plays ball.
So it seems this man’s case has been put on the back burner until he reconsiders his position.
Fee for care?
Is there any truth in the rumour that a $15 fee could be in the offing for those needing treatment soon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital?
Is it also true that this fee would apply to public and private patients as well?
Is it a fact that a Cabinet paper has been prepared and presented to that effect?
Is Cou Cou being wrongfully informed or as usual, are we on the right track? Time will tell.
