Fantasia takes a dive

Fantasia is fascinated by Barbados!
Actually, she’s not just fascinated, she “loves the island”.
The American R&B singer and actress stayed on a few days after she gave a memorable performance at a concert last Sunday at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, Wildey.
EASY magazine caught up with the Grammy Award winner who took in some local lifestyle with a voyage on the Atlantis Submarine.
“I?love the food. I love the people. I love the music. I love the freedom. It’s like nobody is watching what you are doing cause they are too busy doing their own thing,” she said.
Fantasia said she “loves the water”, so it was only fitting that she made time for our beautiful beaches.
“I would love to move here and never go away. I would love to live here,” she said, beaming.
As she walked to the submarine she paused on several occasions to greet, hug and even kiss Bajans who called out to her. She kissed one of the submarine crew members and embraced a few others.
Constantly smiling Fantasia made time for fans of all ages, from little ones to older folk.
When quizzed about our island’s R&B superstar Rihanna, the three-time Billboard music award winner’s face lit up as she proclaimed, “I?love Rihanna – I don’t like Rihanna, I love Rihanna.
“I think Rihanna represents ‘different’ and she stands for what she believes in.”
The singer said she is very interested in doing a collaboration with the multiple Grammy Award winner.
“I would love to do a song with Rihanna.”
Local entertainment promoter Ronnie Morris and Ingrid Holder of Crossfire Ventures were there enjoying the experience with her.
Fantasia Barrino, who is known for her vocals and hitting high notes, rose to stardom in 2004 following her American Idol win.
