President of the Trade Union and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB) Cedric Murrell is making a call for the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) to return to the “fold” of the umbrella body.
During his remarks at the opening ceremony of the Midterm Delegates’ Conference at the Horatio Cooke Auditorium, National Union of Public Workers Headquarters this morning, Murrell told members it was important for unity and solidarity to be maintained within the labour movement. He said the congress was open to discussions with the BWU to heal any wounds that may exist.
Murrell’s call was echoed by general secretary of CTUSAB Denis dePeiza and featured speaker Robert “Bobby” Morris.
The Caricom Ambassador discouraged members from allowing egos to get in the way of unity and urged members to sit down and mend the breach. (YB)
