Little Gems, the name of the just concluded art exhibition at Pelican Art Gallery, Barbados Arts Council, Pelican, Harbour Road, St Michael, should conjure up a picture of small, but uniquely framed paintings seemingly hanging delicately on the walls of an art gallery.
If that is the picture before you, then you have the perfect image of what the Little Gems art exhibition showcased.
These relatively small paintings by leading artists, including Neville Legall, Denzil Mann, Everick Lynton, Heather Dawn-Scott, Glenroy Jordan, Andrea Peirce and Markley Clarke, offer art lovers the opportunity to go small, while still creating paintings that say more than a thousand words.
Chances are you’ll still be able to view some of these pieces long after the art exhibition has officially closed. (CH)
