DEAR CHRISTINE: Ladies, please know your worth

Dear Christine,
I don’t know how you do it, but I wish I could write a letter to all the women out there who get involved with married men and men who are having relationships outside their marriages, and ask them not to seek your advice anymore. It is pure nonsense to me.
They know what they are doing is wrong yet their waste precious space in the Dear Christine column asking you to help them. How foolish can some of us be?
What do they expect you to tell them? To hold on for dear life’s sake and things will get better? Things will not get better, but even if they do, they won’t last the way they think.
Wrong is wrong and the Bible does not change. It says that adultery is wrong.
I felt compelled to write this letter after reading last Thursday’s Dear Christine about this woman who is finding it hard to let go of another woman’s husband. She had no right to him in the first place and she knows that. She has entangled herself in a web and now she is looking for an easy way out Woman, all you have to do is tell the man “I done wid you” and let him go. What are you holding on to? A cheater and a liar! That’s all!
Any man who is willing to take you to dark places just for the sake of a few moments of pleasure is not worth your while or time. What’s more, he is not bent on leaving his wife either.
I know things may be tough right now, but please do not sell your souls. You are worth more than a “ride” in the back seat of a car, or even a “few hours spent in a hotel room or guest house”.
Women, wake up and see your worth. Stop prostituting yourselves. My heart hurts to see how some of you are living your lives, void of any respect; just allowing men to ride you; having children for each man who comes along and being a burden to relatives and society.
I am aware that there are the high-class prostitutes and those who will settle for anything. They are those who in fancy and luxury homes and drive big cars that the married men give them. They pay for this kind if lifestyle dearly because many of them cannot even breathe without the men knowing. They become prisoners in these homes. There are also those who strive on fast food that the men supply, along with pampers and false hair.
This nonsense has to stop, and we women are the ones who have to pray that we will garner the strength to respect ourselves and stop cheating other women like ourselves out of their husbands. We have to take a stand not to cause another sister to suffer because we have taken their husbands from them.
What’s more, our men must take a stand to be the watchmen of their families. Men, if you know that someone is going to break into your home to steal what is rightfully yours and your family’s, you will put up some resistance. Do the same when it comes to extra-marital relationships. They cause lots of damage.
Men, stand up and be men; be the protector and provider of your families as God intended!
I believe I have said enough. Thanks, Christine, for your time and patience. Continue to keep up the good work.

Dear Shanna,
I am always pleased to receive letters like yours which especially encourage our women to respect themselves and respect the sanctity of marriage. Those who are married also need to do the same – both men and women. Infidelity has always been with us but we can choose between what’s morally right and wrong. We make the choices in life and we often times pay for the wrong choices we make.
I hope your letter serves to set those who are guilty on the right track and perhaps save some marriages that are on the brink of destruction.
Thanks also for your kind words.
